Hi All,
Just thought I would tell you what I have been up to. Its getting too much for me to do myself. So I thought I would let you all know and if you can help that would be great, if you can't thats ok, too. I go to the Food Pantry to help on tuesdays and thursdays. I watch what they get in from donations and what they are low on.....Well it bothered me there were no personal items, cold, headache, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, razors, shaving cream...you get the picture. There was none. So I have been going to the Dollar Tree and keeping it stocked up. If you would be there and see how grateful some of them are when they get to that set of shelves, you would know why I keep spending out of my paycheck every week. The problem they are facing now is, when the food pantry goes to the Food Bank in Harrisburg to get food, there is no cereal except for a little bit of strawberry something. And they get lots of peanut butter but no jelly. They always have lots of baked goods from area stores. So, I am headed to Aldi's discount, its the cheapest I found to buy cereal. Its like 1.78 or something, they are not name brands but still have all the different cereals. I am going to try to find oatmeal and pop tarts too. That way if they dont have milk, the kids can still have breakfast of pop tarts or oatmeal. So, I will put a box out at the auction. If everyone gives one thing, then I dont have to try to buy 200! If you want to clean out your cupboards I would gladly get it there. If you dont have anything and would like to help with give a couple dollars, that would be good too. All kinds of food are good to take, I am just telling you what they dont have much of. So if your canned goods are piling up, bring em. I / they will appreciate anything you would like to do. I am thankful for how the Lord has blessed my family. If I can ever help you, please ask me, I will do what I can. I dont want anyone suffering. I have lots of contacts. WOW, so many good folks out there. Already some have called and now I am getting excited! If anyone needs a receipt for write off, no matter what amount. Just put it in an envelope with your name and address and I will get them to give you a receipt as a donation.

THE BOX WILL BE HERE ALL WEEK LONG, open 8-5 mon - thurs
Saturdays 8 til Noon, of course Friday nights when we have sale we are here all night :) I am going to leave the box there for weeks/months.

HOW IT WORKS AT THE FOOD PANTRY: Its open the first three weeks of the month, on tues & thursdays. A family/person can only go once a month. They are accompanied by a volunteer pushing their grocery cart, they can have a certain amount of each item, depending on how many in the family. The hygiene items, they can have one of each of what they need. I was happy to see that if people didnt need shampoo for instance, they didnt take it. They are very greatful to be able to come there.
So thank you. I will update you as I see certain needs in case you want to go that route, or just whatever you want. I know they have enough canned cranberry sauce for a while :)
